Books from Chisinau-Moldova and Odessa-Ukrania. The block prints are from a Russian story book supposedly full of evil. The fish are from a cookbook, the eyes from a book about eye diseases and the feet from Treatment of Burns and it’s Consequences. 19x27cm
Parts of the Kremlin from my Moscow book from the bookseller near the station of Odessa. The fish is from a Russian cookbook and the man in the bathtub is cut out of Treatment of Burns and it’s Consequences. 19x27cm.
Similar to Go East. All pieces come from Moldova. Including the Old Russian banknote and the Lenin Postcard. This time a picture without the cardboard sheet with 10x14cm cutout. The picture is a bit yellowish because of poor light circumstances but that brings a certain atmosphere.
There’s a guy near the station of Odessa selling old books. I bought a book about Moscow for 10 Grivna (23 or so for an Euro and 20 for a dollar). It formed the base for View on Moscow. 19x27cm.
While working at other collages, this one suddenly appeared. All items from books, an old Russian banknote and a postcard bought on the flea market in Chisinau-Moldova. 18x24cm with cut out 10x14cm.
Made this one from a Russian book about eyes and diseases. The paper is from a poor quality and the other side shines through the paper but that’s allright. 19x27cm.
Collage made by books found on my trip in East Europe. Started this one in Iasi-Romania, continued in Chisinau-Moldova and finished it in Odessa-Ukraine. 24x30cm with cut out 14x20cm.
