Assemblage 40x20x10cm (16x8x4inch). Named after the scribbles underneath the deer souvenir. Probably referring to a trip to Gölling. With tranches from Schakenbosch and the number 1 painted on a wooden plate and used in the former church on the Middelweg in Leiden. Picture taken in the open air in front of a tree just outside my studio in Schakenbosch-Leidschendam.

Assemblage in a suitcase grammophone from the fifties. (40x30x10cm. 16x12x4inch.) With scrap wood found on several spots in hometown Leiden, part of a cuckoo clock, ceramic bird bought in Metzer Utca in Budapest-Hungary, electricity part on the left, old fish from a flea market and a tail of a toy fish, probably from China.

Bettie serveert
Bettie serveert refers to famous Dutch female tennis player Bettie Stöve. It is also the name of the Dutch indie rock band Bettie Serveert (Bettie serves or service to Bettie). They named themselves after Bettie who made it to the finals in Wimbledon but was more popular as a double player.
It is the last one in a series of three I made in the Nagymezö Utca in Budapest. Actually, on the day the Hungarian football team won over Austria with 2-0 at the European Championship in France.

In general I work on 19x27cm and afterwards I cover the image with a passe-partout size 30x40cm (12x16inch). The handmade collage is framed in a wooden frame. It’s always hard to make a picture because of the glass. This was the best I could do.
